Conversational AI UX Designer

About the role

Our client, Global People Operations is seeking a UX Designer III to join their team. As a UX Designer III, you will be part of the Product Design & Applied AI team supporting Global People Operations functions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on conversational AI and NLP expertise, strong statistical analysis and machine learning skills, and the ability to collaborate across business stakeholders and engineering partners to scope, design, test, and deliver scalable AI solutions.

**Job Title:** Conversational AI UX Designer

**Location:** Remote

**Contract Duration:** 9 months, chance of extension

**Pay Range: $70-82/hr depending on AI experience**

**Minimum Years of Experience** 5+ years

**Top 3 must-have HARD skills**

+ Hands-on experience with AI solutions (conversational AI / NLP)

+ Can act as the link between business and engineering teams

+ Comfortable with AI architecture and evaluation

**Nice to have skills**

+ Salesforce experience

+ Experience with workforce optimization projects

+ Experience leading a pod or project

**What's the Job?**

+ Support delivery of internal Conversational AI & NLP products and services for Global People Operations by designing end-to-end conversational experiences that enable scalable self-service.

+ Research and share industry best practices and cutting-edge approaches to elevate conversational AI beyond traditional HR practices, with a focus on compassionate customer support.

+ Use NLP techniques to transform natural language data into representations that feed classification algorithms and improve assistant performance.

+ Collaborate with engineers and applied research scientists to deliver efficient algorithms and robust systems that scale to support global employees.

+ Translate high-level business requirements into detailed system-level and functional requirements, including creating and refining flow diagrams and documentation that communicate complete conversational system behavior.

**What's Needed?**

+ 5+ years of experience solving problems with Conversational AI in an academic or professional setting, with hands-on work in conversational AI, NLP, or LLM-related systems.

+ Demonstrated ability to apply strategy and user-centered approaches, using insights to guide design decisions and iteration.

+ Strong statistical analysis skills and practical knowledge of machine learning methods and text representation techniques.

+ Ability to collaborate effectively across design, product, data, and engineering partners in an agile environment, including scoping, testing, and delivery.

+ Knowledge of UX design principles, standards, and best practices, with the ability to connect individual work to broader ecosystem and platform strategy.
