About the role
AlphaGov delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.
We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits — not speculative staffing banks.
AlphaGov is engaging an EV Charging Infrastructure Engineer for current public-sector EV charging studies and site design reviews. You will analyze electrical capacity, charger siting, make-ready needs, and interconnection constraints so agencies can build reliable Level 2 and DC fast-charging infrastructure.
We confirm scope, schedule, and fee with you before any engagement begins.
What you'll do
Review site electrical capacity, panel schedules, transformers, and service upgrades for charger loads
Produce or review EVSE layouts, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and make-ready scopes
Coordinate utility service planning, interconnection applications, and meter or rate options
Advise on Level 2 and DCFC hardware selection, power sharing, and code compliance (NEC, local AHJ)
Support cost estimates for electrical upgrades, trenching, and charger installation packages
Flag constructability, safety, and accessibility issues before agencies bid or award install work
Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when you authorize naming
Apply to be considered.
