Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure DevOps / AWS)

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 3-6 Month Contract

Type: Contract Consulting Engagement

Schedule: 40 Hours Weekly, Monday- Friday

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale application modernization and cloud transformation initiative. This consultant will play a key role in enhancing CI/CD capabilities, improving deployment automation, and supporting the migration of legacy applications to modern cloud-based architectures.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline development, AWS cloud technologies, and application modernization efforts. This is a highly technical, engineering-focused role where you'll be expected to contribute immediately within an established DevOps environment while helping drive several strategic modernization initiatives forward.

Responsibilities:

+ Design, build, enhance, and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines

+ Improve deployment automation and release management processes

+ Develop new development, testing, and production deployment pipelines

+ Support application modernization and cloud transformation initiatives

+ Help standardize deployment practices across multiple teams and environments

+ Automate build, release, and deployment workflows

+ Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and business stakeholders

+ Support deployments within AWS environments, including EC2 and serverless workloads

+ Assist with Infrastructure as Code initiatives and overall platform maturity

+ Contribute to DevOps best practices, governance, and operational reliability

+ Document processes and collaborate within Jira and Confluence environments

Requirements

Required Qualifications

+ 5+ years of DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Engineering experience

+ Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps administration and pipeline development

+ Experience designing and building CI/CD pipelines from the ground up

+ AWS experience, including deployment and support of cloud-hosted applications

+ Experience with CI/CD automation, release management, and deployment orchestration

+ Experience supporting software development teams through modernization initiatives

+ Familiarity with Jira and Confluence

+ Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, and CloudFormation

+ Experience supporting application modernization or cloud migration projects

+ Infrastructure as Code experience (CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools)

+ Experience supporting .NET application deployments

+ Experience building deployment standards and repeatable release processes

+ Experience working in Agile development environments

Nice-to-Have Skills

+ Amazon Redshift migration or data platform modernization experience

+ GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions experience

+ GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted development tools exposure

+ Experience supporting cloud-native application architectures

+ Experience working with legacy system modernization initiatives
