Full-time, fully remote opportunity with a fast-growing infra platform that enables brands to sell globally across Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and beyond. This company handles the complexity of cross-border commerce including logistics, tax and duties compliance, and fulfillment so merchants can focus on growth. The tech stack centers around TypeScript, Node.js, and nest.js, with microservice architecture powering real-time checkout and tax calculation services. EST hours are required.

The checkout team is the heartbeat of the entire company. Every new project that flows into the company flows through this team. With 15 to 18 services under the team’s umbrella and a rapidly expanding customer base, you will have the opportunity to shape architecture, mentor engineers, and ship real work at scale, all from wherever you do your best work. This role is built for an engineer who wants full ownership, thrives without bureaucracy, and loves seeing their work actually matter in production. **Required Skills & Experience**

· 5+ years of backend engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js

· Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining APIs at scale in prod environments

· Track record of building and shipping services end to end with full ownership

· Strong foundation in system design and microservice architecture

· Startup mentality: comfortable with ownership, ambiguity, and moving fast

· Clear communicator who can make and defend technical decisions

· Experience mentoring engineers and raising the bar on a team

**Desired Skills & Experience**

· Next.js experience

· Background in ecommerce or experience integrating with logistics and shipping APIs

· Familiarity with Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce

· Java experience with Quarkus as a bonus

· Experience with MongoDB or Infrastructure as Code

**What You Will Be Doing**

Tech Breakdown

· 60% TypeScript / Node.js / Nest.js Backend Development

· 20% System Design and Architecture

· 20% API integrations (Shopify, Magento, Headless eCommerce)

Daily Responsibilities

· 60% Hands on Engineering (building, maintaining, and scaling backend services)

· 20% Team Collaboration and Mentorship

· 20% Architecture & Design Decisions
