Staff PHP Engineer / Remote

This fast-growing healthcare-adjacent software company is hiring a full-time, fully remote Staff Software Engineer. It builds enterprise software and has become an established platform in its space. The stack is PHP, Laravel, Vue.js and MySQL, and equivalents like Ruby, Node.js, React or Postgres are welcome.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role with no management track attached. You’ll set architecture and direction on major product areas and still write code every day. They want a senior engineer ready to lead complex initiatives, mentor other engineers and raise the bar on quality. Your work ships in your first quarter, you set your own pace around U.S. business hours, and there’s room to architect green-field products.

**Required Skills & Experience**

+ 8+ years of full stack web development experience at a senior level

+ Advanced working knowledge of PHP, Laravel, Vue.js and MySQL, or equivalents (Ruby, Node.js, React, Angular, Ember, Postgres, MSSQL)

+ Track record as a technical lead on complex, high-impact initiatives

+ Experience building enterprise-scale applications where data architecture and query performance mattered

+ Proven ability to mentor experienced engineers and raise standards across a team

+ Strong communicator who can explain technical decisions clearly

+ Genuine interest in a heavy code contribution role, not people management

**Desired Skills & Experience**

+ Experience architecting green-field products

+ Experience running design reviews and code reviews

+ Experience conducting technical interviews and shaping hiring standards

+ Comfort using AI tools to speed up development while applying your own judgment

**The Offer**

+ Salary range: $180,000 - $220,000
