Sr. VMware Cloud Virtualization Engineer

About the role

Job Description

One of our clients is looking for a senior engineer to design, operate, automate, and modernize enterprise private-cloud and virtualization services. This engineer will own the core VMware platform, including vCenter, ESXi, VMware Cloud Foundation, vSAN ESA, VCF operations and lifecycle services, infrastructure automation, virtual machine provisioning, image management, and Lenovo vSAN Ready Node hardware. The role must also possess sufficient NSX knowledge to operate within an integrated VCF environment and collaborate effectively with the NSX-focused engineer. This role is remote.

Skills and Requirements

• 8+ years of enterprise infrastructure or virtualization engineering experience. • 5+ years of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter engineering experience. • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation or another enterprise private-cloud / software-defined datacenter platform. • Strong experience with VMware cluster lifecycle, patching, upgrades, capacity, performance, high availability, and troubleshooting. • Experience with vSAN, preferably vSAN ESA. • Experience with infrastructure automation, scripting, orchestration, or API-driven workflows. • Experience managing Windows and Linux VM templates or golden images. • Experience supporting enterprise server hardware and firmware lifecycle. • Working knowledge of NSX, virtual networking, routing, segmentation, and load-balancer dependencies. • VMware Certified Professional or advanced VMware certification. • VMware Cloud Foundation implementation or operational experience. • Experience with VCF Operations, Logs, Automation, Lifecycle Manager, and Automation Orchestrator. • Experience with vSAN ESA. • Experience with Lenovo vSAN Ready Nodes, xClarity Manager, and xClarity Integrator. • PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or comparable automation experience. • Private-cloud integration with Azure. • Enterprise datacenter modernization or platform transformation experience. • Working knowledge of NSX, Avi Load Balancer, and vDefend.
