About Blockhouse

Blockhouse gives institutional asset managers access to the kind of trading infrastructure that usually takes years and millions of dollars to build. Founded in 2022, we run a noncustodial platform where clients keep custody of their assets while they trade, hedge and compound portfolios across crypto and tokenized markets, from FX and equities to treasuries and compute futures. Alongside the platform we run live delta neutral funding rate and market making strategies with client capital across major venues, and we keep expanding into new frontier markets such as compute hedging.

The role

This is a quant engineering role at its core, sitting between research and production and owning the path from a researcher's spec to a live signal trading real capital. You'll work directly with the founders and our quant researchers, and although the role is open to engineers with 2 to 5 years of experience, we expect you to step up quickly, setting objectives, writing specs, breaking work into tickets and guiding the rest of the engineering team with your judgment.

What you'll do

Turn research specs into production signals, including basis and FX pairs, nowcast fits, index futures pricing and momentum

Build and optimize low latency components in C++ and Rust, from market data publishers and book feeds to the market making engine itself

Own exchange connectivity across crypto and traditional venues, covering order books, rate limit pacing, funding and borrow data, and order reconciliation

Debug and harden production systems, including memory profiling, reconnect and heartbeat logic, and crash investigation

Co lead our cloud infrastructure with an existing senior engineer

Lead the engineering team day to day through specs, code review across our repos and onboarding of junior engineers

What we're looking for

Must have previous experience at a trading firm or building some kind of trading system at the professional level, side projects do not alone qualify

2 to 5 years of production experience in C++ and Rust, with real depth in at least one and working fluency in the other

A track record of shipping low latency or performance sensitive trading systems

Strong grasp of concurrency, async programming, networking and performance trade offs on Linux

Comfort with Python and Go across tooling, gateways and research integration

The drive to lead, meaning you're ready to own objectives, direct others and make calls without waiting to be told

Nice to have

Experience integrating crypto or equities exchange APIs

Background in market making, HFT or execution systems

Familiarity with margin, funding and portfolio accounting across venues

Experience running trading infrastructure in the cloud

Why Blockhouse

Direct ownership of systems that drive firm PnL

Close work with the founders and quant team

Meaningful equity and performance upside

A live trading environment with a high engineering bar
